Kids Science Project Ideas Made Simple and Fun

By Dee Schrock

Kids science project ideas are numerous, depending on the category of science. Experiments can be done just about anywhere, such as in your backyard, kitchen, local park, classroom, and so on. Kids are naturally curious and like to experiment to see how things work. There are many ideas for science projects, but it is important to pick one that suits your child’s age so they can get as much enjoyment out of it as possible and be proud of their results.

One fun kids science project is to see what sort of items will float or sink in a water, vinegar, and baking soda mixture. You can do this kids science project with your kids right in your own kitchen. All you need is a clear plastic or glass container, water, vinegar, baking soda, food coloring, and some items like raisins, rice, dried fruit, and broken bits of spaghetti to test whether they will float or sink.

Does anyone know of any good books for Kindergarten Science fair projects ?

I work for a library and I need to order books on Science Fair projects for Kindergardners. Most of the books we have are for kids that are 9 years old up through highschool age. I have many parents that come into the library looking for these kinds of books. Any suggestions?

You might want to ask the board of education for a copy of their kindergarten science curriculum and start your journey there. I can’t find anything for kindergarten, but I’m sure you can research a science topic and modify it for their age. Good luck!

In need of a science project that will blow the judges away….?

Of course, I sign up for the science project seminar at school and I suck at science. But, I want to prove to myself and others I can do it. I’m in 10th grade, but I really don’t want to do something 10th grade level, knowing these kids’ projects are going to be pretty extravengant.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :)

Maybe a mini-motor that works. I built it before and every one was watching it spin. XD
